The new coating offers many substantial advantages. The coating is much harder and much more heat resistant than other coatings. Moreover, it is more stable than the original C7 coating, thus increasing tool life and reducing the number of necessary tool changes. The result is lower tool costs. The initial C7 PLUS™ test results show a distinctly improved performance compared to traditional high-performance coatings (TiAlN/AlTiN). In other words, the new coating constitutes a great improvement which can be applied in a variety of materials.
