KG Spann- und Greiftechnik Bahnhofstr. 106 – 134 | D-74348 Lauffen/Neckar Tel. +49-7133-103-0 | Fax +49-7133-103-2399 info@de.schunk.com | www.schunk.com 1. Warranty The warranty period for TENDO SDF HSK-F 63 is 24 months after delivery date from factory assuming appropriate use and respecting the recommended operating and maintenance regulations. Basically tool and machine contacting components and wear parts (actuation screw and seal) are not part of the warranty. 2. Safety 2.1 Intended use –The TENDO Hydraulic Expansion Toolholders are designed for clamping rotation-symmetrical tools. –This product may only ever be employed within the restrictions of its technical specifications (see chapter 5). Intended use also includes compliance with the conditions the manufacturer has spec ified for operation, maintenance and environment. –The product ist only intended for industrial use on machines for wood and plastic processing. 2.2 Not intended use Use of the TENDO hydraulic expansion toolholder other than as intended includes for instance:: –T he product is used for heat shrinking. –Exceeding the specified technical data of the hydraulic expansion toolholder during use. 2.3 Safety instructions WARNING If the Hydraulic Expansion Toolholder is used with extensions and longer, overhanging or heavy tools, if it is used inappropriately, or if the minimum clamping depth is not observed, there is a risk of injury from ejected parts. •F it protection covers in accordance with the EC Machinery Directive point 1.4.2.2.B. •C omply with the values of the technical data. •The maximum speed has to be reduced, if longer, overh anging or heavy tools are used. In case of special designs, deviating indications on the drawings have to be considered. (The ID marked on the toolholder has to match with the one on the drawing.) •O bserve the minimum clamping depth. 2 3 CAUTION Risk of injury from tools with sharp edges. •W ear suitable gloves for tool change. NOTICE The expansion toolholder must not be used for heat shrinking. The toolholder will be destroyed. 2.4 Notes on safe operation –C lamping of tools and the inertion of the TENDO hydraulic expansion toolholder into the DIN mounting of the machine interface always has to be done by technically trained personnel. Thereby please consider the technical data of the machine interface. –T his hydraulic expansion toolholder is designed for an operating/toolholder temperature of + 50 to + 70 °C. The optimum clamping force is in this temperature range. –The clamping screw must be turned in manually with an Allen key to the limit stop. Tightening torque: 10 – 12 Nm. Never actuate the actuation screw with a power screwdriver! –In case of use of SCHUNK intermediate sleeves, the intermediate sleeves have to be inserted to the 4 face stop. Only use SCHUNK intermediate sleeves! The use of intermediate sleeves can reduce the transmittable torque. –The use of shanks with recesses influence the balancing grade and run-out accuracy of the whole system. –In case of non-compliance of the minimum clamping depth, there is a risk of damaging the expansion sleeve and loss of accuracy. –The vent screw of the hydraulic system is protected with a pin. Don’t remove it! –A dditional bores, threads or attachments which are not offered as an accessory by SCHUNK, may only be used with the written allowance of the SCHUNK GmbH & Co. KG. 3. Clamping / Unclamping – The tool shank must be burr-free and free of dirt. –Always insert the tool down to the minimum clamping depth into the toolholder. Do not combine several extensions (e.g. TENDO SVL). The clamping screw is not secured against dropping out! At more than 25°C the expansion toolholder should not be clamped without a tool or workpiece. 5 The clamped expansion toolholder (tool in the toolholder) may not be unclamped when the temperature exceeds 45 °C. The maximum load of the spindle mounting has to be observed. 3.1 Usable shank types Tools with a plain straight shank according to DIN 6535, shank form HA to 25 mm and with recesses according to DIN 1835, form B, E and DIN 6535 form HB, HE can be clamped. Type A with straight cylindrical shaft. Cylindrical shaft acc. to DIN 6535 HA and form A according to DIN 6535 part 1 Type AB with one Weldon flat Cylinder shank Form B according to DIN 1835 part 1 and DIN 6535 HB Type B with two Weldon flats Cylinder shank B according to DIN 1835 part 1 Type E with Whistle-Notch flat Cylinder shank E according to DIN 1835 part 1 and DIN 6535 HE Type A Type AB Type B Type E 6 Clamping diam. Basic body diam. 4. Care, Storage and Maintenance –For securing the clamping force, the clamping bore and groove have to be cleaned after every tool change with a cleaning agent which containing solvents. –Before storage, the whole surface of the Expansion Toolholder should be oiled slightly. –Always stock the Hydraulic Expansion Toolholder in unclamped position and protected against corrosion. –Basically repair works should be done at SCHUNK. If you should do the repair works on your own or have it done by a third party, the warranty is volded. –D epending on the environmental conditions it may be necessary to adjust cleaning and lubrication of the actuation screw correspondingly, particularly in case of a high number of clamping cycles, high operating temperature, abrasive dirt or swarf. For optimal lubrication of the actuation screw, we are recommending the use of copper paste MOLYKOTE CU 7439 (100 g tube, Id.-No. 9247204). 5.
