Cylinder head Spring platform Objective: This tool is Unimerco’s first CFS tool solution. The aim was to create a tool for machining spring platforms, leaving no chips stuck in the cylinder head. This would eleminate the following manual inspection and cleaning process. The previous solution ran at 2 000 mm/ min feed rate and 10 000 rpm, while tool life was 5 000 holes.
