Safety Information Tools and tool holders for wood and wood-based materials Congratulations on your new tool from Kyocera Unimerco This Safety Information contains important information on how to handle and use the tool. You must comply with this Safety Information to ensure that the tool will function safely and correctly. Do not use the tool if you fail to understand the instructions for use. If you have any questions regarding the use and maintenance of the tool, please contact us. Safety standards • The tool/tool holder complies with the applicable requirements set out in DS/EN847-1, DS/EN847-2 and DS/EN847-3. • The tool/tool holder may only be used by persons who have the necessary experience and training in the safe handling and use of the product. Nmax • Must under no circumstances be exceeded. • Applies to tools and tool holder, lowest Nmax must be observed. MAN tools • If the tool or work piece is held or fed manually, only tools marked MAN (manual feed) may be used. Tools with cylindrical shank: • Minimum clamping length for tool shaft and tool holder must be observed. (Please note that the clamping length for the tool is not necessarily the same as that for the tool holder) • For more details, go to our website: www.kyocera-unimerco.com Clamping surfaces • The tool/tool holder must be clamped firmly and securely on the designated clamping surface(s), sufficiently distant from the cutting edges, so the cutting edges of the tool are not damaged. Tightening torque for screws • Screws for mounting etc. must be tightened in accordance with the correct torque level, see the tables on page 2. • Always use correct tool for tightening. It is strongly recom- mended that a calibrated torque wrench is used. • Check that all demountable clamping parts are mounted cor- rectly before using the tool. Tool holder • Maximum length and diameter of tools mounted in the holder must not be exceeded. Cleaning • All clamping surfaces for tool body/tool holder and/or cutting edges must be kept clean and dry. • Use clean, hot water (max. 80°C), possibly with added alkaline soap, (pH max. 8) or vegetable oil for cleaning. Safety equipment • Always use recommended safety equipment. • EXERCISE CAUTION – RISK OF CUTTING! Packaging • Always use the original packaging for storage and transport. Repairs • Damaged or modified tools/tool holders may not be used. • Always contact Kyocera Unimerco before repair of the tool/tool holder and before any re-sharpening of the tool is commenced. Also refer to the Danish Working Environment Agency for applicable regulations and advice! Torque wrench holder for tools with shank: • Place the shank in the correct depth in accordance with the requirements to holder and shank. • 426E/ER16 - 472E/ER40 – 470E/ER32 – 462E/444E – 410E/415E tightened at 140 Nm. Hydro holder for tools with shank: • Place the shank in the correct depth in accordance with the requirements to holder and shank. • The pressure set screw clamps to the bottom.
